Softball: Big inning pushes East Hall past GAC

RABBITTOWN — The East Hall girls softball team won for the fith time in six games and its third consecutive Region 7-AAA gameb Tuesday in a 4-0 win over Greater Atlanta Christian.

Carley Cox had two hits to help spark the East Hall (10-6, 7-2 Region 7-AAA) offense, which scored all four runs in the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie.

That would be all Macy Banks needed. She scattered five hits and struck out three in getting the complete-game shutout.

Amelia Veal was charged with the loss for the Lady Spartans (7-8, 2-6) walking three and striking out two.

In the decisive fourth, Banks had a RBI fielder's choice and Abigail Brown, Makayla Wilson, and Peyton Turner each had RBI singles.

East Hall next will travel on Union County on Thursday in another 7-AAA battle.
