Testimony got underway Tuesday in the murder trial of a Hall County woman accused of killing her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend.

Hall County Sheriff's Office Special Ops deputies and investigators arrested Ofelia Barrera-Rodriguez, 49, at her home last November, sheriff's department spokeswoman Nicole Bales said at the time.

The victim, Iris Romero, 43, was found by deputies in her Hidden Knoll home December 28, 2014, with multiple stab wounds.

Nearly a year later, according to information released last November, investigators with the sheriff's office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation said trace DNA evidence collected at the crime scene led them to Barrera-Rodriguez.

Barrera-Rodriguez went on trial in Hall County Superior Court Monday.
