HELEN — The Truett McConnell women's golf team currently sits in a tie for second place in the TMU Fall Georgia Mountain Invitational hosted at Innsbruck Golf Club and Resort. Point University sits in the team lead 11 strokes clear of TMU A, Tennessee Wesleyan and Brenau.
Ashley Blackburn led the way for the Bears with a first-round score of 81, which is good for a third-place tie through 18 holes. Point's Courtney Lowery leads the way, shooting an even-par 72 in the first round. Reinhardt's Jocelyn Blair is in second at 4-over-par, while Blackburn and Brenau's Morgan Wood sit in third at 81.
Other notable scores for the Bears were Hannah Wall with an 84 (eighth place), Teagan Lovingood with an 85 (tied for ninth place) and Alex Oren with an 89 (tied for 14th place).
