Rape Response is accepting applications for interested volunteers to work with survivors of sexual assault in the Gainesville area.
Volunteers are trained to respond to crisis calls and accompany assault survivors to the hospital. Volunteers must live within 30 minutes of Northeast Georgia Medical Center's Gainesville campus. A background check, interview and 20 hours of training are required.
Training will be offered as follows:
Thursday, September 29, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm (dinner will be provided)
Saturday, October 1, from 8 am to 4:30 pm (light breakfast & lunch are provided)
Thursday, October 6, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm (dinner will be provided)
Thursday, October 13, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm (dinner will be provided)
Attendance of all four sessions is required to complete the training.
