Gwinnett County commissioners have accepted a $2 million grant from the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority to begin right-of-way acquisition for a new exit on I-85 near Buford.
The exit, which will cost a total of $19.5 million, will be coming to Ga. 324/Gravel Springs Road, according to a press release from Gwinnett County.
The project will be funded by federal, state and Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funds.
Right-of-way acquisition will take place in the 2017 fiscal year.
Commissioners approved the grant funding Aug. 22.
