Hall County Financial Services has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for the U.S. and Canada. The award is for the department's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2015.
"This certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management," said Zach Propes, director of Hall County Financial Services. "The intentional and diligent efforts of all parties coming together to produce a high quality and timely CAFR speaks volumes for our organization, and I appreciate everyone's involvement, hard work and sacrifice."
The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
This marks the 24th year the department has earned the designation.
