Cars rimmed the field, their headlights adding even more luster to the helmets popping into pads and streaking down the sideline.
Football is most definitely in the air.
The high school season is just 18 days away, and some northeast Georgia programs could not even wait until sun-up to get in the first full practice, as they conducted a football version of midnight madness at 12:01 a.m. Monday.
"We just couldn't wait to get out there, and it ws great to see a lot of people come out to watch the practice," Rabun County coach Lee Shaw said.
Shaw is one of 30 coaches within our coverage area feverishly prepping his charges for the 2016 campaign. And as coaches and players are cramming for Friday nights so are we at AccessWDUN.
We're putting together our Friday Game Night season preview page -- which will include videos, stories, pictures and all the names and games you need to know for the upcoming campaign.
For a little taste of what's to come check out the "It's Friday... Game Night" teaser above. The full video will launch on Aug. 8, with our full season preview set to publish one week later on Aug. 15 -- just days ahead of "Week Zero" and the kick off of the 2016 season.
We can't wait for that first taste of pigskin -- and we know you're jonesing for it too.
