SNELLVILLE, Ga. (AP) Police say a homeowner fatally shot a man who attempted to break into his suburban Atlanta home.
Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington says 25-year-old Michael Silva was shot to death early Friday. Washington says Silva lived less than a half-mile away from the home where the shooting occurred.
Washington says the man was at the home with his wife when they were awoken to sounds of someone trying to get inside. The husband got his gun and found the man climbing through the bathroom window of the master bedroom before he fired one shot.
Washington says police found Silva dead on the back roof of the home with a gunshot wound to the face. It seems as if the man tried to use a ladder to get to the window.
