A North Carolina man is busted by North Georgia drug agents for running a methamphetamine operation in several counties in the region.
Agents with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) said White County authorities made a traffic stop and found 44-year-old Lars Prentice Johnson of Murphy, North Carolina with a concealed container in his vehicle. In that container was more than a pound of meth and what they called a "substantial" amount of cash.
The drugs were valued at around $16,000, according to agents.
Agents said Johnson ran his operation in Hall, White and Towns counties in Georgia, as well as in Cherokee County and Clay County, North Carolina.
ARDEO agents said the investigation into the drug operation continues.
