Ralston doubles up match-play wins to move into quarters of State Amateur Championship

WOODSTOCK — Spencer Ralston stormed through the first two rounds of match play in the Georgia State Amateur Golf Championship on Friday at the Capital City Club-Crabapple Course in Woodstock.

Ralston, a Gainesville High graduate that is about to begin his collegiate career at the University of Georgia, took out Michael Hines 4 and 2 in the round of 32 and then edged out Nickolaus Budd in the round of 16.

The victories set up a quarterfinal showdown with Christopher Harris, beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday.
