A Gainesville man remained in the Hall County Jail Tuesday afternoon, charged with aggravated assault in a weekend shooting.
"Russell Toler shot an acquaintance of his three times in the chest with a 22 caliber handgun, following an argument," Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware stated in a media release.
The 42-year-old Toler was booked into the Hall County Jail last Saturday morning. The incident happened that morning at Toler's residence on Marlow Drive off of West Ridge Road, according to Ware.
"The victim is recovering in the hospital, and his injuries are not considered to be life threatening," Ware added.
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
