Dallas, Texas is more than 800 miles from Gainesville, Georgia, but law enforcement officers say distance doesn't matter when tragedy strikes.
Gainesville Deputy Police Chief Jay Parrish reacted Friday morning to the shootings that killed five police officers in Dallas, saying he couldn't remember a time in his career when he had "ever felt more sick to my stomach."
Parrish was a guest on WDUN's Morning Talk and spent time discussing the emotions of the job, as well as the relationship between officers and the citizens in Gainesville.
