CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars for Division I, II & III were announced on Tuesday with a total of 828 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The University of North Georgia women's golf team's Shelby Hanna and Taylor Allen each capped the 2015-16 season by earning the All-American Scholar designation.
Earlier this year, both golfers earned Peach Belt Conference All-Academic distinction with Allen also collecting the league's Elite 15 Award.
Allen, a junior Management major, carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average as she collects her third consecutive WGCA All-American Scholar honor.
Hanna is an Exercise Science major with a 3.50 GPA, as the junior picks up her first-ever WGCA All-American Scholar honor.
The criteria for selection to the WGCA's All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
