A detour in downtown Jefferson, which begins Wednesday, is expected to impact traffic for about three months, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The detour, GDOT officials say, is necessary because of road improvements to State Route 15 Alternate/State Route 82 and Kissam Street.
It will become effective at 10:00 Wednesday morning and be in place through late September.
