Titia Sargent has been hired as the new Assistant Principal for Gainesville Middle School effective July 1.
With 13 years of hands-on teaching experience, she has been employed with the Gainesville City School System since 1994 and has taught at Centennial Arts Academy and Enota MI Academy as a teacher and paraprofessional, according to a press statement from the Gainesville City School System.
For the past nine years, Sargent has served as Instructional Coach at Gainesville Exploration Academy where she has been instrumental in facilitating research-based teaching strategies to address the needs of teachers and to achieve school goals. With an Education Specialist degree in School Leadership from North Georgia College and State University, school officials said Sargent has vast knowledge in areas such as data analysis, staff professional development, core standards, instructional content/resources, and curriculum development/implementation .
She is a member of the school district's 2015 Aspiring Leaders cohort.
