UPDATED: McEver Road re-opened after tanker truck catches fire

A tanker truck caught fire Wednesday afternoon, causing a traffic headache for drivers on McEver road in Hall County.

The truck was carrying and heating tar, and crews were using it for road repairs in the area, according to Cpt. Zach Brackett, Hall County Fire Services spokesman.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived, and no injuries were reported.

Traffic had to be diverted in the 4:00 hour. The road was re-opened shortly after 5 p.m.
