The head coach of the defending state champion in Georgia's largest classification has been suspended for one year by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for an incident involving the head-butting of a player during the Class AAAAAA state semifinals last year, according to several media outlets.

Colquitt County coach Rush Propst head-butted kicker Luis Martinez in a Dec. 4 game against Mill Creek in Hoschton. The incident was captured on the GPTV broadcast of the game.

Propst was not suspended or reprimaded by either the Colquitt County School system or the Georgia High School Assocaition.

The Moultrie Observer has reported that Propst will make an appeal before the administrative law judge at the Office of State Administrative Hearings. No word on when that will take place.
