The three juveniles killed Saturday in a wreck in Talmo will be remembered in a joint funeral service on Wednesday in Gainesville.
Memorial Park Funeral Home is handling arrangements for Luis Fernando Carmona-Zepeda, 16, Denise Ramos, 9, and Angel Jesus Huerta, 4. The children will be remembered in a 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, June 15 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gainesville.
All three died at the scene of the Saturday morning crash on Talmo Road at Belmont Highway, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
A GSP accident report indicated Carmona-Zepeda and Huerta were buckled in at the time of the crash; the report said it was unknown if Ramos was wearing a seat belt.
The three were passengers in a vehicle being driven by Yazmin Zepeda, 17. Investigators believe Zepeda failed to yield as she attempted a left turn from Talmo Road onto Belmont Highway, pulling into the path of a pickup truck being driven by 36-year-old Cory Scott Williams of Jefferson.
Williams was alone in his vehicle, but Zepeda had two other passengers in her SUV in addition to the deceased juveniles. The GSP report identified them as Ariel Urapo, 14, of Gainesville and Hipolita Huerta, 29, of Gainesville. Huerta is the mother of the two younger victims, according to funeral home obituary notices.
