A Gainesville man is facing charges including aggravated assault and cruelty to children after authorities say he fled an apparent domestic dispute Wednesday afternoon.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes said Tyler Daniel Cantrell is accused of physically assaulting his wife at their home on Wallace Road near Gainesville at around 2:30 p.m.

Bailes said Cantrell fled into the woods behind the house before deputies could arrive, however a K-9 unit was able to locate him. He was taken to the Hall County Jail where he is being held without bond.

Cantrell faces charges of Aggravated Assault, Misdemeanor Battery and Cruelty to Children.
