Snellville man drowns Tuesday in Lake Lanier

Another drowning has occurred on Lake Lanier this season - the latest victim was a man from Gwinnett County. 

Divers with Hall County Fire Services recovered the body of the Snellville man Tuesday evening at Van Pugh North Park, which is iin the Flowery Branch area.

Hall County Fire Captain Zachary Brackett said crews were called to the scene at around 5:20 p.m. and called the incident an apparent "witnessed drowning." 

The body of 29-year-old Robert St. Louis was found just after 6 p.m. in 20 feet of water.

Crews with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, the Army Corps of Engineers and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources assisted HCFS divers in the search.
