A Gainesville woman was arrested Friday after Hall County drug agents carried out a search warrant inside her home.
Danette Charmaine Norrel Stevens, 45, faces charges of Possession of Methamphetamine With the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Alprazolam With the Intent to Distribute, and Probation Warrant, according to Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware.
Ware said in a media release that the search warrant was carried out inside Stevens' home on Old Flowery Branch Road near Mountain View Road as part of a drug investigation.
He said agents with the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad, with the assistance of Felony Probation officers, carried out the investigation and subsequent search.
"During the course of the search, agents seized approximately one gram of methamphetamine, a glass smoking device with methamphetamine residue in it, approximately 70 Alprazolam tablets and digital scales," Ware explained.
Stevens was arrested on site as a result of the search.
Ware added that while the suspect was being transported to the Hall County Jail for booking, she "discarded an additional quantity of methamphetamine, which she had concealed on her person, in the Marked Patrol Unit."
The methamphetamine seized during the investigation amounted to a total of roughly 1.5 grams. Ware said the total street value of the drugs confiscated "was estimated at $1,300.00."
Stevens was eventually booked in the Hall County Jail on the aforementioned charges. Ware said he does not anticipate any other charges or arrests to result from this particular investigation.
