Water line installer injured when dirt collapses around him

CLEVELAND -- A White County man was injured Wednesday afternoon while installing a water line in Cleveland. 
 
Fire and medical personnel were dispatched to 1242 Old Blue Creek Road at 1:01 p.m.
 
Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said a man, working for a private contractor installing a water line to Woodlands Camp, was injured.
 
While in ditch, loose dirt collapsed injuring the worker, Pruitt said. Dirt was cleared around the man and he was removed by Cleveland Fire personnel and taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
 
Pruitt described the man’s injuries as non-life-threatening.
