Fire did heavy damage to a couple of townhomes in Oakwood Thursday morning, according to Hall County Fire Capt. Zachary Brackett.

He said crews were called to the 4700 block of Crawford Oaks Drive around 5:00 a.m. and found the multi-family unit on fire.

Brackett said it appears the fire started in an unoccupied unit.

"The cause of this fire has been ruled accidental and attributed to a lightning strike last (Wednesday) night," Brackett stated Thursday morning.

No injuries were reported.  The Gainesville Fire Department also responded to the fire.
