A Demorest woman involved in a crash that killed four University of Georgia students April 27 is recovering, and she has asked for the public to pray for the other families involved.
Abby Short released a statement Wednesday on Facebook, saying she is at home recovering from her injuries.
"We would appreciate everyone continuing to lift the families up in prayer, and ask that God will give them comfort and peace," said the post, which was written on the National EMS Facebook page.
Short is employed by National EMS, and had surgery recently to repair broken bones in her ankle.
"We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the emergency personnel from the National EMS team, as well as all who administered aid from Athens Regional Medical Center, and the Oconee County Sheriff and Fire Department."
Short was driving along Highway 15 near Watkinsville when a car driven by Agnes Kim, 21, crossed the center line and hit her, killing four passengers in Kim's car.
Authorities have said speed and alcohol are not to blame, though they do not know what caused Kim to cross the center line.
