Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries in a wreck in North Hall Wednesday afternoon.

Cpl. Nick Jenkins of the Georgia State Patrol said the crash occurred on Mount Vernon Road at Buckhorn Road and involved two vehicles, a pickup and an SUV.

Jenkins said the accident occurred as both vehicles entered a curve on Mount Vernon from opposite directions, with the pickup following another vehicle too closely.  He said the truck driver "steered" across the centerline and into the path of the SUV when the vehicle he was following slowed to turn onto Buckhorn.  The pickup struck the SUV head-on, sending the SUV off the road, where it struck a ditch and overturned, according to Jenkins.

A section of Mount Vernon Road was closed for more than an hour because of the wreck.

Jenkins said charges are pending.
