ATLANTA (AP) Authorities have identified the pilot who was killed in a crash during an airshow in suburban Atlanta.

DeKalb County Medical Examiner's investigator Eric Minter says 50-year-old Greg Connell died in a crash Saturday afternoon at the Good Neighbor Day Open House Airshow at the DeKalb Peachtree Airport.

Connell was flying in tandem with another plane during an aerial acrobatics stunt show when his plane crashed. Authorities have said Connell was the only one aboard the plane.

DeKalb County spokesman Burke Brennan has said the crash was the first accident during the airshow in 30 years. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.

Social media accounts linked to Greg Connell Airshows based in Trenton, South Carolina, asked fans to pray for Connell's friends and family.
