Boys tennis: Thrilling doubles rally pushes North Hall into Elite 8

EAGLES LANDING — The North Hall boys tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class AAAA tournament with a thrilling 3-2 win over Eagles Landing Tuesday. 

Jackson Davis won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Reid Lattanzi won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Dalton Patterson lost a tough match at No. 2 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Matthew Chewning and Masa Kobayashi lost in straight sets to put the match at No. 1 doubles.

Paxton Gillespie and Daniel Martin rallied from a set down and trailed 5-2 in the second set before finishing the match winning 11 of the final 12 games to pull out a 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 victory. 

The Trojans (19-3) next will take on the winner of the Cartersville and Perry match.

North Hall's girls and boys are both still playing in the postseason.
