Davis Middle School in Flowery Branch was evacuated for a brief time Friday afternoon because of smoke in the building, fire officials said.
Hall County Fire Services received a call about the smoke at approximately 12:44 p.m., according to Captain Zachary Brackett.
He said the smoke was the result of an isolated issue with an HVAC unit.
"Power was secured to the unit and maintenance personnel were on scene prior to our leaving," Brackett wrote in an email to AccessWDUN.
Fire units were on the scene for about 30 minutes, according to Brackett.
