AIKEN, S.C. — Fresh off a dominating performance to win the Region 8-AAAAA individual championship on Monday, Gainesville senior golfer Spencer Ralston will now put his talent to the ultimate test when he takes part in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club.

The Junior Invitational, a three-day, 54-hole tournament which begins its sixth edition on Thursday, features 54 of the world's best junior golfers, representing 14 different countries.

Ralston, a University of Georgia-signee, has been mentioned in a small group considered among the top junior golfers in the country.

Gainesville golf coach Bryson Worley said it’s a huge challenge and also a place to showcase your talent.

“It's like the Master's of the junior golf world,” Worley said.

According to the announced field, 16 of the top 17 junior players are in the field, led Golfweek’s top-ranked junior golfer Phillip Barbaree of Louisiana.

Gainesville's Spencer Ralston is set to play in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club this week in Graniteville, S.C.
