MONROE — Chestatee won its second straight Region 8-AAAA game Tuesday night routing Monroe Area 15-6 behind a big game from Sean Irick.
The junior outfielder went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs, four RBI, and scored four times to lead a 15-hit attack.
Junior right-hander Braxton Nicholson got the win on the mound pitching four innings allowing six runs -- four earned -- on eight hits while striking out three. Clay Coffey pitched three scoreless innings in relief striking out six to get the save.
As a team Chestatee (10-15, 6-9 Region 8-AAAA) had two home runs, one triple, three doubles, and a whopping 13 RBI in the game.
Cameron Wilson had two hits, stole two bases, and scored four runs, Austin Sargent had two hits, two RBI, and scored three runs, and Kyle Garrett had two hits and two RBI for the War Eagles. Will Cantrell and Coffey each had two hits and Joe Sutton and Christian Carter combined for two hits and three RBI for Chestatee.
The War Eagles will close out their regular season at home Wednesday against Monroe Area.
It will be Senior Night and a post-game ceremony will take place honoring the following seniors:
Christian Carter, Trip Lemay, Ben Harrison, and Mikey Petraroi.
