Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire has identified the man killed in an early-morning shooting incident on Garrison Road near Cornelia on Tuesday.
Jesse Robert Looney, 32, of Demorest was fatally wounded in the incident, McEntire said Tuesday night.
Further details are unavailable at this time and are forthcoming pending an autopsy and investigation by the Habersham County Coroner's Office, Habersham County Sheriff's Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of this morning's tragic event," McEntire said.
Looney was one of two people shot at a home on Garrison Road between Garner a Road and Pea Ridge Road about 4 a.m. Tuesday. The other name has not been released.
As of Tuesday night, Tommy Savage, 56, was being held by the Habersham County Sheriff's Office on a charge of aggravated assault.
