GREENVILLE, Ga. (AP) Authorities in west Georgia say they've captured the second of two inmates who escaped from a county jail.

The Meriwether County Sheriff's Office says in a statement that 34-year-old Eugene Lamar Mitchell was apprehended Sunday in Greenville.

Sheriff Chuck Smith says a vehicle matching the description of the one Mitchell had reportedly been occupying was located at an apartment.

Officials say he was found hiding in a bedroom when they made entry.

Mitchell, who was being held on several charges, including child molestation, sexual battery and burglary, will face new charges related to the escape.

Authorities say Mitchell and another inmate, 29-year-old Travion Terrell Hall, broke out of the Meriwether County Jail Tuesday night.

Hall, who was being held on probation violation, was captured Wednesday at a hotel in Hogansville.
