As the May 24 General Primary approaches, elections officials from Hall County - and others across the state - are gearing up for a busy seven weeks.
After its regular meeting Tuesday, the Hall County Elections Board released sample ballots and a calendar of events leading up to the election.
Coming up first is the availability date for absentee ballots. Those ballots will be available by mail only beginning this Friday, April 8. All requests for absentee ballots must be written. The last day to make a written request for an absentee ballot is Friday, May 20.
Other important dates on the event calendar:
April 26
- Last day to register to vote in the May 24 General Primary
May 2-May 20
- Early/Advance Voting - takes place Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Hall County Elections Office, 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.
May 14
- Saturday Voting - one day only from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at three locations in the county, the Hall County Government Center in Gainesville, the North Hall Community Center on Nopone Road in Gainesville and Spout Springs Library in Flowery Branch
Sample ballots are available by mail or can be picked up in the Hall County Elections Office. Sample ballots and other information are available on the elections website, as well.
