GAINESVILLE — Dylan Lavender scattered three hits and struck out nine to lead North Hall to a 3-0 victory over Johnson Monday in Region 8-AAAA play at Jody Davis Field.
The Trojans (13-7, 8-3 Region 8-AAAA) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win.
It was a scoreless tie into the fifth when North Hall plated two runs off Johnson starter Bud Abercrombie. The Trojans added another run in the sixth.
Abercrombie pitched a solid game for the Knights (1-18,0-9) yielding just five hits and only one earned run. But Johnson could not get anything going against Lavender and the Trojans.
John Mark Montgomery led North Hall with two hits. Austin Adams, Drew Atha, and Clark Hill, and Lavender each had one hit for the Trojans.
Mark McGraw, Chandler Barkley, and Ramon Munoz each had one hit for Johnson.
