A home on Hartford Place off Stoneridge Drive, which is off Oliver Road in the Chestnut Mountain area, was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning.

Hall County Fire Capt. Zachary Brackett said initial reports indicated someone might be trapped inside the burning home, but shortly after crews arrived, they were able to make contact with the occupant, who said no one was inside the structure.

Brackett said the house was about 1,000 square feet in size; it was heavily involved in fire when crews got to the scene.

At this point, there's no word on how the fire started.
