A Gainesville woman has been named to a state board and a Flowery Branch woman has been appointed to a new term on another state governing board.

Sheri Hooper of Gainesville, the founder and volunteer CEO of Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, is one of the newest members of the Early Care and Learning Board.   Sandi Gentry of Flowery Branch, a governmental resource analyst in the Legislative Affairs Department at Georgia Power, is getting a new term on the Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism.

The appointments were made by Gov. Nathan Deal.
