OAKWOOD — Franklin County completed a three-game Region 7-AAA series sweep over West Hall Friday sweeping a doubleheader, 3-2 and 9-0, at Spartan Field.
In Game 1, the Lions (13-0, 6-0 Region 7-AAA) held off several layte rallies by the Spartans (8-6, 2-4) to get the win in nine innings.
Franklin County got a solo home run from Jackson Meadors in the top of the ninth inning for the game winner.
The Spartans had chances in each of the seventh and eighth innings to win the game but left runners stranded at third both times.
The Spartans' Tanner Ahmad drove in a run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extra innings.
Kyle Reynolds retired the side in order in the eighth for West Hall but was touched for the home run by Meadors to lead off the ninth.
In Game 2, Franklin County used a seven-run second inning to grab the lead and never looked back.
