Firefighters from both Hall County Fire Services and the Gainesville Fire Department spent part of the overnight battling a house fire on Skelton Road.
Hall County Fire Capt. Zachary Brackett said crews were called to the burning home around 12:00 a.m. Because of the intensity of the fire, firefighters used a defensive attack to extinguish the fire.
Brackett said the 2,000-square-foot, two-story home was destroyed.
He said at this point, investigators are unsure of an origin or cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
