Baseball: Atha stars as North Hall pushes past White County, 4-2

GAINESVILLE — Drew Atha drove in two runs, and Jackson Latty added a solo home run, as North Hall baseball dispatched White County 4-2 on Wednesday in a Region 8-AAAA contest in Gainesville.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Atha smacked a line drive single to left field to push North Hall in front for good at 3-2. Atha also got the win in relief.

Clark Hill also provided an RBI for the Trojans (8-4, 3-0 Region 8-AAAA), while Taber Mongero went 3 for 4 from the plate with a run scored.

Latty had two hits, including the solo bomb.

Dylan Lavender got the start for North Hall, pitching 3 1/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on five hits. Atha pitched 3 2/3 innings in relief, holding the Warriors hitless the rest of the way and striking out four batters.

North Hall will travel to White County on Friday.
