The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly award listing with freshman Brady Ballstadt earning USA South Baseball Rookie of the Week. This marks the second time this season that Ballstadt has taken home the award.
Baseball went a perfect 5-0 last week as Ballstadt went a combined 7-for-17 with seven runs scored, four RBI and two walks. The freshman from Suwanee, Georgia provided the game-winning home run against Adrian College in a 7-4 win on Saturday as his two-run blast put Piedmont ahead 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Ballstadt has made his name known in the baseball world early in his career as he made SportsCenter's Top 10 taking the No. 2 spot on the countdown with a diving grab in center field on the same day he hit his first collegiate home run.
The USA South Athletic Conference announces its weekly honor roll each Monday and at least half of the teams in a sport must have competed within the previous week for honors to be awarded.
