JEFFERSON — Jackson County finished off a thrilling sweep of Oconee County Friday in both teams' opening Region 8-AAA series.
The Panthers (6-3-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAA) took 2-1 and 4-3 victories in doubleheader at home. Both wins came in the Panthers' final at-bat. That came after they had taken a 3-2 win in eight innings on Tuesday.
It was the fourth straight win overall for Jackson County. Oconee County fell to (3-7, 0-3) with the losses.
Jackson County next will play host to Hart County on Tuesday to open a three-games seies with the Bulldogs.
Oconee County open a three-game series with Jefferson at home on Tuesday.
