A Gainesville couple has been chosen Georgia CASA State Volunteer of the Year and the Hall-Dawson CASA is the winner of the state Established Affiliate Award of Excellence.

Seth and Cathy Vining and Hall-Dawson CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) were recognized at the recent Georgia CASA State Conference.   The Vinings will also be recognized at the National CASA Conference in Washington.

In a posting on its Facebook page, Hall-Dawson CASA http://www.halldawsoncasa.org/ says the Vinings have "impacted the lives of countless children and families."

Regarding the local group's recognition, the posting says "This award is an acknowledgement by Georgia CASA, our state organization, of the dedication and commitment that our program, volunteers, board and staff exemplifies."  The award comes with a $1,000 cash award from state CASA.
