HARTWELL — The Class AAA second-ranked East Hall boys whipped Hart County 8-0 Friday night to stay unbeaten on the season.

The East Hall girls made it a sweep with a tough 2-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs in the first game.

In the boys match, East Hall (7-0) got four goals and an assist from Leo Toledo. Sergio Turcios and Alex Arrellano each had one goal, Maury Ibarra had one goal and two assists, and Oscar Gonzalez scored one goal with one assist for the Vikings. Carlos Castrejon added two assists and Kevin Bran also had one assist for East Hall.

The Viking defense allowed no shots on goal except for two free kicks by Hart County. Neither shot stayed on frame so the keepers had zero saves for the game.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings snapped a four-match losing streak with the victory. Kimberly Quintanilla scored one goal on a penalty kick and Rosa Montes also had a goal for East Hall.

Jancy Almendares had one assist and Elizabeth Barcenas had seven saves in goal and Rosa Montes had three saves in goal for the Lady Vikings.

Both teams will open Region 7-AAA play on the road against Fannin County on Tuesday.
