Girls tennis: Lady Red Elephants win thrilling match over South Forsyth

CUMMING — The Gainesville girls tennis team defeated host South Forsyth 3-2 in the first round of  the South Forsyth Invitational Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Lady Red Elephants got wins from No. singles Katherine Wright 6-1, 6-1,  No. 3 singles Ali Waggoner in a marathon match 7-5, 4-6, 13-11 and at No. 1 doubles when Paige Patterson and Madi Kiser rallied from a set down to win 5-7, 6-2, 10-6. 

Gainesville improved to 3-0 with the victory and will take on Buford and West Forsyth on Saturday starting at 8 a.m.
