LULA -— It took about three months, but the City of Lula has reached an agreement to purchase the railroad depot from the Lula Area Betterment Association.
The announcement came at a called city council meeting Friday morning.
City Manager Dennis Bergin said the purchase price is $25,000, with up to $2,000 to be paid to cover LABA's legal fees.
Additional conditions on the purchase also are in place, but Bergin said he doesn't anticipate any problems.
LABA officials said they are glad the depot will remain with the city for community use.
