JASPER — Dylan Lavender scattered 10 hits and allowed just two runs, only one earned, in a complete-game, 6-2 win over Pickens Wednesday on the road.
North Hall (4-3) scored single runs in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth to run out to a 4-0 lead. Pickens (2-3) trimmed it to 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth but the Trojans added a pair of runs in the seventh to push the lead to 6-1. The Dragons added a run in the seventh but Lavender was able to cloe out the win.
Wesley Smith went 3-for-3 in his first varsity start for North Hall. Drew Atha and Lavender each had two hits and Jackson Latty had one hit and two RBI for the Trojans. Austin Adams and Fowler Brooks also had hits for North Hall.
Dominic Stephens took the loss for Pickens allowing two runs on four hits in four innings of work.
North Hall next will travel to North Gwinnett on Friday to take on the Class AAAAAA Bulldogs.
