CLEVELAND — The White County Chamber of Commerce and Babyland General Hospital have announced that the parade normally held as part of the Magical Easter Eggstravaganza has been cancelled as part of this year’s event.
Since the Eggstravaganza's inception, the parade has made its way through the downtown Cleveland square.
White County Chamber of Commerce President Cindy Bailey said during a recent board of directors meeting the parade was being cancelled due to lack of participation, noting that with a month to go there was only one parade entry.
The board took into consideration that the parade participation had declined since the festivities were moved from downtown to the new Babyland location.
Bailey says it’s possible the parade will be reinstated in the future.
"Next year we are looking at a potential new route that hopefully will create more excitement and participation, which will incorporate the festivities at Babyland," Bailey said.
The Magical Easter Eggstravaganza, now in its 28th year, is scheduled for Saturday, March 19. It is held on the grounds of the Babyland General Hospital, located at 300 NOK Drive, Cleveland.
