LAWRENCEVILLE — The anticipated battle between Flowery Branch and Jackson County at Coolray Field on Wednesday has been cancelled due to the rain and thunderstorms that hit the northeast Georgia area Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

It was to be the first of a series of high school games to be played at Coolray this season. Both programs played last year at Coolray, which has held several prep baseball games at the home of the Gwinnett Braves, the AAA affiliate of the Atalnat Braves, over the past several years.

The game has been rescheduled for next Tuesday (March 1) at 5:30 p.m. at Coolray Field.

Several other northeast Georgia teams, including Buford, are slated to play at Coolray this year.

North Hall has a game scheduled to be played at Turner Field later in the season.
