DAHLONEGA — The University of North Georgia women's basketball team placed four players in double figures, but it was not enough as Georgia Southwestern escaped Memorial Hall with a 72-63 Peach Belt Conference victory on Wednesday evening.

Jordan Livesay led the Nighthawks with 13 points on 5-of-10 from the field. Kaylee Akin added a season-high 12 points including a perfect 2-of-2 from 3-point land.

Kelsey Hutchins and Cierra Jackson added 10 points apiece with Jackson rounding out her 15th double-double of the season with a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Hurricanes blew out to an early 12-point lead and held a 23-16 advantage after the first quarter.

The Nighthawks could not quite catch GSW, but was able to tie the game at 58 three minutes into the fourth quarter on a 3-pointer from Molly Rainwater, but GSW would use a 5-0 run to retake the lead for good.

The loss drops North Georgia to 15-9 overall and 7-8 in conference play while GSW improves to 10-12, 4-11 PBC.

UNG hosts Georgia College on Saturday (Feb. 13) at 1:30 p.m. as part of UNG Athletics Hall of Fame and Homecoming 2016 festivities.
