ATHENS — The Lakeview Academy girls basketball team picked up a victory in the first round of the Region 8-A tournament on Tuesday in Athens.
The Lady Lions (20-6) pushed past Athens Academy 55-41.
Hannah Grogan and Haley Cash each paced Lakeview with 16 points apiece.
The Lady Lions led 32-22 at the half.
Lakeview Academy moves on to the region semifinal round at 4 p.m. Friday in Athens against an opponent to be determined.
